I Am Thankful
-I am very thankful that on this Thanksgiving day, I still have my mom and step dad living in a nursing home up north. It was touch and go for a while at times. I wish I could be near and able to give a hug and a kiss, but thankful I can call and say I love you. I know not having us with them will be very difficult this year, so happy they have each other.
I’m thankful I have a roof over my head, my little place I call home, which also provides me with a place to have 3 out of four of my children here to enjoy this day with me. My missing daughter is celebrating with the young man that she loves and knowing she is happy is well worth sharing her with others.
I have a turkey in the oven, two pies in the fridge and potatoes yet to peal. We shall dine and give thanks for all we do have, forget about our worries of what tomorrow will bring and pray that those less fortunate can find something to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all
I hope you all have a safe and happy day. May your travels bring you safely home again and may your heart always remember there is always something to be thankful for, even when our minds forget. Some forget to be thankful when so much blocks out these feelings of joy. Remind them they matter and they are never really alone. If they are too tired or lonely to reach out into the dark, extend your hand to them, give them light and give them something to reach for. A small ripple of hope is all it takes to bring a wave of relief to those who need it. Enjoy not only this Thanksgiving day, but every day all year through. Just once a year is not nearly enough to stop and give thanks.
