This is my Black and Decker Air Fryer Review
-I have been seeing an advertisement on TV for an air fryer for quite some time and wanted to get my hands on one. I was finally able to get one on sale at one of my favorite places to shop. It was on sale for $89 and I just couldn’t resist. After eating my lunch today, I knew I had to write an air fryer review for this Black and Decker air fryer.
Love My Fryer
I have to admit, I really like it. Having snacking teenagers in my home makes this little machine just wonderful to whip something up quickly. I bought some frozen foods to try out in it and so far, we really like the frozen fish and chicken for sandwiches. Chicken fries and nuggets are great too. Have yet to try the little frozen pizza, but when I do, I’ll revise this post. My kids are always flying out the door for one thing or another and now in about 15-20 minutes they have a quick hot meal, that’s better for them than deep frying. I heated up left over pizza in it and I will never microwave my left over pizza ever again.
I just love that I can have food, that is best when deep fried, now be best when air fried. Just purchasing it a couple weeks ago, I think at least one of us, has used it on 9 different occasions. I just had to write an air fryer review, because I know, I, myself, had quite a bit of doubt as to what they were really like.
Downside
I does have a couple draw backs that some air fryers may not. One drawback, it’s not quite big enough. It has a basket divider, but I find it works much better without it. We usually cook our fries first, so we can nibble on them as a couple chicken patties cook (about 8 mins on high, flipping 1/2 way through).I have done one patty and one serving of fries and it works pretty well and complete in 11 minutes.
The basket is showing signs of losing the no stick coating. After using it many times over the past few months, the bottom of the basket has lost quit a bit of the coating. I’ve never used more than a nylon scrubber on it. This could use some improvement. We use it quite a bit now that it’s so hot outside. I don’t like to heat the kitchen up cooking and this is just the ticket for that. I have a fan behind it in a window, sucking the hot air that blows out the back quickly outside.
Safer Than Hot Oil
I don’t worry about my kids “frying” food any more. My stove top no longer is a splattered mess after “frying”. We use the air fryer and really like it. It is mostly used for lunches or a quick on the run meal, which is better than fast food and cheaper too. If it last 6 months, using it at this rate, it will be well worth the cost and will have actually saved me money. Bonus is, the kids can do it on their own, without any help from me.
I’ll update this post as I find things that air fry really well. Some fries are better than others and some coatings are better than others, so I believe a list of things that are really good when air fried, what temp and how long to cook it may be helpful. These would be just the ticket for a single person or someone like me with teenagers. I hope my Air Fryer Review was helpful.
