Inventors-Please Invent This

If Your Inventors or Have Money To Invest
Please Consider a few of the items I have listed below

Inventors, investors or just plain looking for ideas that can be manufactured, you should save this page to your favorites. Often I come up with product ideas that are not to be found, yet I know it is something, that makes good sense. Below you will find some of the ideas I have. Some will be improvements for products that already exist and some will be my creative mind at work. I’m always being told “You can’t sell an idea”. Why Not?
If your an inventor and should happen to fly with any of these ideas, please let me know so I can look for it on store shelves. A little kickback would be greatly appreciated as well, if it should become profitable for you and or your company. Now that patent laws have changed from first to file versus first to invent, no worries about lawsuits from me. I declare I am sharing this information freely with intent to share with anyone who wishes to read it and with hopes of it becoming a product one day.

You can also contact me, if you would like me to remove one or two and I’m sure we can work something out. After all, if you want to purchase one of the ideas listed, it would no longer be my idea any longer. Now would it? I think ideas do have value.

I’d just really like to see these products come to life. Sitting as designs and log entries in my journal or bouncing around in my head is not likely going to make that happen. My Needs often give me Notions for different things. Inventors often live a frustrating life. You have all these ideas and can do little with them. I’ve tried to find resources that could give me a place to showcase my ideas, yet come up empty each time.

I have a few that I’m sure would grant me a bit of financial freedom, but because my resources (mostly money), are so limited, I can never seem to capitalize on any of them. So I’m throwing my hands in the air and caution into the wind as I let the cats out of the bag. This may become a private page at some point, but for now, it’s open for all to see. With enough interest and results, perhaps this can one day become a fee base page. It will allow me “a penny for my thoughts” kind of thing….grin

Detail, Details, Details

If you are a manufacturer or if your an online seller of products, do me and a bunch of other people a big favor…Accurately list all sizes and dimensions of your product. As an inventor I often use products that already exist to create a product I want to use. “Sure everyone who needs this product knows what it goes with”, but I don’t know, I just know I need something that is a specific diameter and I CAN’T find it, because people fail to list details. News flash, …Your missing out on possible sales.

Cell Phone for Seniors of Today and Tomorrow

A cell phone that is like a home phone. Many seniors that are now in care facilities are use to using a home telephone and often only have cell phones for emergencies. They are simply more comfortable with their home phone. Many facilities do not provide phone service, so it is up to the individual to have their own phone service. Most will not allow land lines, so they have to use a cell phone. This can be quite frustrating for the senior. Face it, cell phones are small and most have many confusing features which makes it very difficult to use and not very user friendly for someone who may not always be thinking clearly or does not have the dexterity they once had.  With baby boomers not far off from living in such facilities, this only makes sense. Flip phones are very difficult for seniors to open most of the time and here is an example of a cell phone for seniors. From what I hear this is the best one to get. I disagree. This would be the best one, someone just needs to get it on the market.

It could also be nice to have a future or current one that will also allow the senior to video chat with family through their television. Perhaps a camera that can be plugged in to the phone with a small screen they can put on their table if they want to chat more privately (purchased separately) if they so choose. Photo viewer would be great too. Friends and family can send them pictures and they can store some on the device. This is not a necessary feature, would just be a nice one, it gets pretty lonely at times. Would make their day, to see their family and friends faces, that live far away. The seniors can also show the caller how well they are being cared for. Will discourage nursing home abuse a great deal. (just a thought)

Great for Seniors today, if it were a cell phone

  • Big numbers
  • Easy to Handle
  • Large LED screen
  • Great volume control
  • Basic functions (most seniors do not surf the web)
  • Simple to program
  • A “silent” programmable setting for sleeping (naps and at night)
It can also have a prerecorded message letting the caller know what times are best to call.
  • Low fee carrier – prepay or plan

Wireless Television Speaker

inventors

These worked once-outdated now

A small (not too small) bedside speaker that hooks up to the television. Once again, geared mostly for seniors that are in facilities that often have 2 to 4 people in each room. Have you ever walked in to one of these rooms? 4 TV’s going, all on different channels. This speaker should be easy to set up with nearly any television. Will need a transmitter that gives you “free channel” options, so you can have 4 or more in one room and remember there will be several rooms in close proximity as well that may be using them. The speaker has to be wireless, can’t have people tripping on cords. It can be powered, I see no problem with that.  Volume control (easy to use) on the speaker, as well as still being able to control the volume with the remote. Maybe a switch that will allow the sound to come from either the TV or just the speaker would be nice, for when you want to share. It should probably need to be able, to be attached to a bed rail with a short tie of some sort or be able to be placed on a bedside table. Low profile, so they can set it right in front of them if they like and still be able to see the TV. If attached to a bed rail it should not interfere with the function of the rail. We don’t want the nurses or aids to complain about it. Safety first. It has to be something facilities will approve, which should not be difficult at all. There are a lot of baby boomers that are going to be needing this and I see a need for it now as well.

Product Ideas For Flea Control

See my post “Fleas first official post” to this website, to learn more.

An effective flea trap (don’t let big name manufactures of  toxins buy you out). With the right warmth, moisture, and vibration, it can be done! Millions of pet owners would love one of these. A shallow dish of dawn dish soap with a light over it is a solution, but it’s not very good to use with pets and small children around. There is a need for an effective flea trap.

A rental style caging system would be cool, high off the floor to protect your pet and remove a flea’s food source as you kill and remove fleas from the home. One that has a tray below it to put vinegar in to force fleas to vacate the animal and a ventilated floor that you can put a towel over for the cats comfort would be great. My cat would love to be caged for a week or two, to avoid daily baths. One with a tray to allow you to dust with powder or borax will work too.

A comfortable mesh cat bed that sits over a removable tray that can be dusted with borax or flea powder. When cats have fleas they will move from place to place to sleep. They usually will only sleep in the same spot for about a week or two. I believe they know eggs fall off and will soon become fleas. Once they sense the bed is infested they find a new location. This kind of bed will allow owners to wash often so the cat knows it’s clean and because they are not being attacked while they sleep, they will feel safe sleeping there.

This will also control fleas and keep your cat from infesting your entire house. At 50 eggs per day from one flea, having as many fall off into certain death is huge for cat owners. Since cats tend to sleep their lives away, I’m guessing nearly 75% of the eggs will fall off while grooming before nap time and sleeping. I do believe, since I can not buy one of these, I’ll have to make one. I’m thinking I can make it out of a covered storage tote. Cutting a hole in the top and covering it with some kind of mesh. It has to be removable, so more than likely I will put elastic around the edges. I can put it on the lid frame (the parts I did not remove) and then place the lid back on the tote. I’ll dist the bottom with borax, seeing as though it kills fleas very well. One little speck can scratch their protective bodies and they quickly dehydrate. Great for carpets. If an egg hatches, the larva will die soon afterwards. it’s a win win for flea control. I’ll post a picture for you once I get it done. (9-10-2016)

Floor to Ceiling Tension Poles

You would not think this would be a product that is hard to find, but it is! I have looked high and low and have come up empty. This product can be so useful for so many things and even more so, if additional, simple compatible products were available as well.

City apartments often have concrete or brick interior walls and often rentals will not allow you to physically alter them, including holes for curtains. If you take two floor to ceiling poles and stand them next to each side of the window you can easily place cross poles where ever you’d like to hang curtains, beads, plants and such. Also great for blocking the sun or a breeze in an open covered patio or porch. All you need is some light weight fabric with rod pockets on each end.

The poles can also be used to create unique light fixtures with a few optional pieces to allow you to secure to fixture to the pole and run the cord through the pole to hide it. I believe keeping the tension spring at the top of the pole would be the most logical options for maximum usability.

You can create room dividers with top and bottom cross poles to hold a fabric tightly. People love this inexpensive way to change a room or hide an ugly corner. Can easily separate space in a child’s room that has to share a room with a sibling.

People love and are searching for those vintage tension plant poles that have been replaced with a weak, cheap imitation of the original. I had one of the old models and loved it. I often had 5-6 plants hanging off one pole and never had it come down. The spring tension part was at the top and worked very well.

Here’s what I’m thinking. Need poles that can come apart for storage, shipping and flexibility. 2 foot length would be a good start. Poles should fit snug together without altering the smooth pole line on the exterior of the pole. Have 6 inch adaptable poles that have the options to modify them with slots for angled plant hangers, coat hooks, towel bars and such or holes for running cords through them. Will also give you options for high ceilings. Will also need 18 inch poles to make up the difference when the six inch poles are to replace a standard 2 foot pole. I have not worked out exact figures, I’m leaving that to whomever happens to run with this idea. A tension style clamp, like those found on most speaker stands would be perfect to slip over the pole and secure any place on the pole, to adapt fittings for cross poles.

Just something useful that’s no where to be found. Price should be kept low, after all, you can get a tension shower curtain rod for less than $10. Problem is, they are just too short and they do not fit together with screw style length adjusters blocking the path. Just google floor to ceiling tension pole and the ideas will start rolling.

UPDATE 12-30-2016; I found these at Overstock, going to buy a pair to see how sturdy they are. I see no problem with them working for lightweight applications. I just need to see how they go together and if modifications are needed. Behind the door towel rack. Price is reasonable too.

Bathtub wash Cradle for Infants

Infant Wash Cradle

Example for Idea

I first came up with this idea as I was searching for another. It’s the next insert. I saw a photo of a reusable diaper and thought it may be a wash cradle and thought what a great idea for washing a slippery baby in the bathtub. Easy velcro cover on a sturdy plastic frame. It will cradle the infant, giving mom or dad free hands to wash. Someone could actually make one out of PVC or purchase a factory made wash cradle if someone would put it into production 🙂

Infants often have accidents in the tub. This allows you to simply drain the water, slide the infant away from the water flow as you refill, rinse off the infant with a cup and then plug the drain as you refill the tub so you can continue to wash.

You can even add safety features to help protect baby from some of the stupid bathing errors new parents often make. Like make it float if parents over fill the tub. An LED warning light that is temperature triggered or water level triggered warning light. Figure a way to make it adjustable or reconfigured for babies that are beginning to hold their heads up.

In the example I show “A” would actually have velcro on it as well and would attach to “B”. “C” would be designed to be a cross support to keep baby’s bottom from slipping downward. The fabric would be soft, dries quickly, perhaps a mesh area where baby’s bottom would sit at the lowest  place of the design (for accidents). The frame can come apart for storage, packaging and reduce manufacturing costs. Six slip resistant legs should do fine.

If I can not find something like this on the market by the time my children begin to have children, I’m going to make one for my grand babies. I would have loved to have one of these when I was toting that baby bathtub around. Please Invent This.

Portable Wash Basin for Top Load Washing Machines

I’ve been seeing these cleverly designed washing machines with the wash basins and I’d love to be able to do that, seeing as though I no loner have a laundry tub in my laundry room. It will be a simple product. Molded plastic should be just fine. Formed to fit most standard washing machines.

The only issues I see is getting the water into the basin, so including a thin deep pitcher would be a must, so you can fill from water that is filling your machine. The pitcher should also fit nicely inside the basin for storage. One thing nice about being portable and easily removed, you can dump really yucky water into a toilet, instead of into your wash water, so it should have a pour spout. I’m thinking it should be able to easily be poured into the pitcher.

Just a thought, run with it as you wish. I know I’d have one and I doubt I can make it myself 🙁

  1. Manufacturing processes can be broken down into the broad categories that follow. When production quantities are low and success is uncertain you may use one process that costs more per unit but far less up front. When quantities grow it’s easier to justify investment in high production tooling to enable lower costs. Likewise, as you switch from one process to another you may change the materials you use.
